I've been spending more time exploring Contra lately, and one thing I genuinely like is that it feels less transactional than many traditional freelance platforms.
There's a stronger sense of community, personal branding, and showcasing the work behind the freelancer.
But it also got me thinking…
What actually creates momentum on Contra?
Is it consistently sharing your work? Building relationships with other creatives? Having a strong portfolio? Being active in the community? Reaching out to the right people at the right time? Or is there something I'm still missing?
I'm experimenting with different approaches and paying attention to what seems to work.
I have a feeling that finding projects on Contra isn't necessarily about hunting harder it might be about learning how to position yourself so the right opportunities start finding you.
It would be interesting to see what others have discovered along the way. 👀
