This is a small experiment where I tried to make a 3D-looking globe inside Figma Make.
Why? to see how far I can push Figma Make beyond the usual app screens and to explore 3D things using Make.
While researching how to make it real, I stumbled across something called WebGL. From there, I asked Figma Make to help me build it. After a few prompts, a lot of fixing errors, and some trial & error, the globe finally came alive.
where you can wrap your own images around a rotating globe, tweak the lights, play with shadows, and control how fast the world spins. And when you don’t upload anything, the globe doesn’t stay empty, it comes alive with your uploaded image.
You can also download it as a PNG or a looping video, which makes it perfect as a fun hero section animation for your next design project.
