Weekend fun šŗ. The new MacBook Pro has a Dynamic Island, and I kept wondering: what if that little pill was where your AI agent lived?
Try it live: https://lab.behzad.me/agent-mew/
So I spent the weekend prototyping Agent Mew. You drop a file on the notch, give it a task, and it quietly works up there while you keep doing your thing. It shows progress in the wings, asks a quick question when it needs one, and always waits for your OK before doing anything that leaves your Mac, like sending an email.
A few things I explored:
- Progress that stays out of the way, readable at a glance
- Questions as one tap, not a chat window
- Approval cards for anything with real consequences
- Paused and stuck states that tell you what to do next
- A small animated cat, because agents should have some personality
Approval cards for anything that leaves the Mac is the right line to draw. Does the card show the full email before you tap OK, or a short summary? I'd lean toward full text for anything going to another person.
š Itās live! Iāve finally updated my design portfolio:
š
This space has been a long time coming, a reflection of the stories, systems, and identities Iāve been lucky to shape across wellness, healthcare, community & events!
Itās still evolving (arenāt we all?), and Iāll be adding more projects soon, but Iām excited to finally share a fresh look at my work and creative direction!
Congratulations on the new portfolio, Kajal! The grid of bold reds, magenta and cobalt mockups, with that confident serif G repeating throughout, makes the whole identity feel energetic yet cohesive. What guided the way you sequenced your wellness and healthcare projects?
I redesigned 8x.life as a concept project
8x's homepage today is a list of links. Their best ideas (the manifesto, how the company works, how hiring works) are scattered across three different sites. So I rebuilt it as one story, aimed at the people they want to hire:
ā The manifesto leads: "humans in the loop."
ā "How 8x works" is shown as a loop, because every new vertical builds on the last one.
ā Real lines from their job ads, instead of culture-deck adjectives.
ā A fit self-check that can honestly tell you "this probably isn't for you."
ā All 18 open roles on the homepage, filterable.
Every fact comes from 8x's own sites. Nothing is made up.
Visual reference: e2.vc. Built in React, tested on desktop, tablet and mobile.
Unofficial concept. Not affiliated with 8x.
Nice redesign!
