i think the emotions you are trying to evoke in the users matter and for usability purpose you want users to see what this is all about these should determine your choice of speed for the motion in question.
Many of my hero explorations are hugely inspired by nature. Do you think motion added to the experience here? Or does it distract from the intention? Please let me know in comments.
