Most people think editing is about knowing the right app.
It’s not.
Tools like CapCut, Premiere, or anything else don’t make a video cinematic your decisions do.
When I edit, I don’t start with effects. I start with story.
What matters first:
What emotion is this scene supposed to carry?
What moment actually moves the story forward?
What can I remove so the message is clear?
Only after that do I think about pacing, rhythm, and sound design.
A clean cut with strong intention will always outperform a “flashy” edit with no direction.
Even in CapCut, I treat every project like a film: tight storytelling, intentional transitions, and audio that carries emotion not noise.
The goal isn’t to show what the app can do.
It’s to make people forget the app was even used.
That’s what separates editing from storytelling.
