Picture a farmer who has just sent 200 bags of soybeans to a buyer three states away.
Then nothing. No receipt, no word on whether it sold, no idea when the money comes.
HarvestBridge is a portal I built for that gap. It is made for the kind of business that buys produce from farmers across West Africa.
Here is what happens to that farmer now:
The business posts a buy order with the product, quantity and price per bag.
The farmer sends an offer against it, with photos, in English or French.
Staff move it through four stages: submitted, received, sold, paid.
Every change lands on a timeline the farmer can see, with a note.
Questions go into a chat that takes files and voice notes.
The part I had to rethink came while I prepared the public demo. Chat files and voice notes were being saved in a public folder, so anyone holding a direct link could open them. I moved them into private storage, and the app now checks who is asking before it hands a file over. If your customers send you documents, that check is the difference between a private conversation and an open one.
The demo runs on fake data and resets daily. Log in as a farmer or as staff: https://harvestbridge.opromise.dev/login
If you need a portal like this for your own business, send me a message.
