A booking cancellation creates a design question: who should get the newly available slot?
In BookingFlow / Cita Fácil, I designed the recovery flow around compatibility and availability.
When a slot opens, the system matches compatible waiting-list customers and sends an email with a secure acceptance link. Availability is checked again before confirming the booking, and the first valid acceptance gets the slot.
That second check matters: an email offer should not become a promise of an appointment that is no longer available.
I built this demo in Lovable for Lumina Studio, a fictional beauty business. The customer experience and separate business demo use fictional data, and the interface supports English and Spanish.
For people designing booking systems: would you prefer automatic waitlist offers, or an owner review before an offer is sent? What would influence that choice?
