If you run a WordPress site, check your version today.
WordPress released an emergency security update on July 17 to address one critical and one high-severity vulnerability. Due to the severity, WordPress enabled a forced security update for supported sites.
Most sites should have updated automatically, but it's still worth verifying—especially if your site uses a custom deployment workflow, version pinning, or anything that could prevent automatic updates.
A successful attack on an unpatched site could allow an attacker to compromise your website, potentially leading to malware injection, site defacement, or unauthorized access.
Take two minutes to check:
→ Go to Dashboard → Updates → Confirm you're running a patched version: → 7.0.2 (WordPress 7.0) → 6.9.5 (WordPress 6.9) → 6.8.6 (WordPress 6.8)
If you're on an earlier version in one of these branches, update as soon as possible.
Not sure whether your site received the security update? Comment "CHECK" and I'll help you verify it.
