Every new technology comes with the same dramatic headline:
"Developers are finished."
But somehow, we are still here.
Java did not disappear. Python did not disappear. JavaScript did not disappear. HTML definitely did not disappear.
And ChatGPT will not magically remove the need for people who understand how software actually works.
AI can write code faster.
But it still needs human judgment to decide what should be built, why it matters, how it should scale, where it might break, and whether it actually solves the real problem.
That is the difference between generating code and building software.
The future is not “AI vs developers.”
The future is developers who know how to use AI without losing their fundamentals.
Because tools change.
Strong problem-solvers stay valuable.
