Night of the Living Rad Once a year, the blood moon rises and Chad the Rad Zombie gets a night out but, nobody can know he's real. Hold the mouse to sneak, let go to freeze, and when a window lights up, strike a pose and hope the neighbors don't notice you. Three levels, 16 nosy neighbors, one race against sunrise.
How it came together: • It started as a "find the hidden wonders" hunt. Midway through, I pivoted to sneak-and-freeze because the game made more sense.
• I cut the per-level timer. With random peeks because it felt unfair, so instead your total run time became the score.
• Luck-based fake-outs became blue TV flickers, so getting caught feels earned, not random.
• My initial build utilized keyboard controls however, the game was experiencing performance issues. So I iterated, condensed and applied logic. I baked the lighting into the art, trimmed heavy effects and moved the controls to the mouse so it plays smoothly on the web.
How it was built: Art generated in Google Gemini in a '90s cartoon style, then hand-cut piece by piece in Photopea. Built by directing Claude Code in the Rive CLI, with WGSL shaders on the GPU Canvas rolling the fog and crackling static between scenes. Brought home in the Rive Editor.
