Here are the safe areas that we need to consider in the new iPhone Duo, and this also reveals a lot of how apps have been redesigned for this device and also why we don't have a "Left handed" dock.

Great question! I see it as a hardware limitation. On the outer display, the camera isn't positioned like the one on the inner screen; it's fixed to the top right, which would get in the way of the UI and user interaction. The outer screen is also designed to be used in that...
That inner vs. outer safe area split is such a headache to design around. Would you actually keep two versions of your components for this, or design once and just accept it won't be pixel-perfect on one screen?
