What if Van Gogh never stopped creating? What if his art lived on 150 years into the future? For the FLORA Museum Challenge, I reimagined Vincent van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with a Straw Hat as a glimpse of the artist in 2125. I wanted to keep what makes the original feel unmistakably Van Gogh—the straw hat, expressive face, direct gaze, and painterly character—while imagining how his creative world might change. I built a futuristic studio where traditional brushes, canvases, sketches, and paint exist alongside subtle digital and AI-assisted tools. Through the windows, his world has also changed: a greener, more advanced city shaped by the future. I developed the piece in FLORA through several explorations, moving from the original portrait to the future studio, then bringing the artist into that world and refining the final scene. The tools changed. The world changed. But the artist kept creating. The Artist, 2125. Built in FLORA. #floramuseumchallenge
