PUSHBACK | Bubble Free-For-All I came back to freelancing this year, and the hard part turned out not to be the work. It is the conversation before the work. Budgets that shrink, deliverables that multiply, deposits that quietly disappear. I would replay a call for two days afterwards and see exactly what I should have said in the moment. Then it clicked. I have that conversation maybe four times a year. The person across from me has it every week. That is not a talent gap, it is a reps gap. So I built somewhere to get the reps. PUSHBACK is a negotiation dojo. You pick a client, you get a brief with your rate and the four terms you have to protect, and you have twelve turns against an AI client with a hidden objective. Five clients, five different attacks. The Discount Hunter says his budget is half your rate. It is not. The Scope Creeper accepts your price instantly, then takes it back one deliverable at a time. The Friend Rate never names a number. The Committee sends every term to someone who is not in the room. The Ghost wants to start now and sign later. While you talk, the app keeps score. An offer sheet sits next to the chat, the client reads it, and every time you give ground a tracker quotes your own words back at you with a price on them. At the end you get a grade, and it is arithmetic, not an opinion: the percentage of your rate that survived, minus 25 for every term you failed to protect. End it without the client agreeing and it closes as NO DEAL. Built in Bubble. One Claude call per turn in a backend workflow, forced tool call so the answer comes back as typed fields. The model plays the client, the app keeps the books, so the same session always gives the same grade. The first time I played it I lost 600 dollars to Marc in four turns. Second time I did not.
