I’m between projects right now. So I tried a different kind of work. 🔧
I took a job disassembling a turbine. It took me 5 minutes. They paid me $5.
That’s $1 a minute, or $60 an hour. 🤯
Now I’m wondering: what is actually harder, design or serious physical work?
When I design, nobody sees the hours of thinking, the 15 versions, and the small details that make it work. When I take apart a turbine, the result is clear right away.
I’ve been a designer for 6 years (web, Webflow, motion and presentations). Both kinds of work need focus, patience and care.
What do you think? Which one is harder? 👇
And yes, I’m still looking for work. If you need a web designer, a Webflow developer or a motion/presentation designer, write to me. 🙌
How do you design a store when every product is black? That was the challenge behind VAEL, a brand selling 15 pieces in two editions: Onyx and Contrast.
With no colour to guide shoppers, the design had to do it. Bold condensed type sets the tone, clean outlines show what's selected, and one soft pink highlights sales and rewards.
I designed 20 screens for desktop and mobile, in light and dark mode, from the homepage all the way to checkout.
The result is a store as sharp as the product, and easy to shop. Live demo: https://claude.ai/code/artifact/4e953fd5-47c5-4429-ae8f-e6550690f47b
