I’ve analyzed 100+ websites trying to “rank in AI”…
Less than 10% are actually measuring if it’s working.
Everyone talks about AEO/GEO.
Very few track it properly.
And that’s the gap.
Because the end goal isn’t just visibility…
It’s predictable traffic + consistent conversions from AI platforms.
Here’s a simple framework you can start using today:
Step 1: Track mentions in AI responses
Run your core queries and check if your brand appears, gets linked, or is missing.
Step 2: Compare against competitors
Search the same queries and see who shows up more often.
Step 3: Create a visibility score
Combine mentions, reach, and consistency into one simple metric.
Step 4: Audit how AI describes you
Is the positioning accurate? Is anything missing or incorrect?
Step 5: Build a prompt list
Write 20–30 real queries your customers would ask and test them regularly.
Step 6: Measure traffic & conversions from AI
Track visits coming from tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.
Step 7: Fix technical gaps
Check schema, crawlability, and ensure AI bots can access your pages.
Step 8: Keep content updated
Fresh pages get picked up more often than outdated ones.
Here’s a real example 👇
I recently reviewed a service website:
→ They had strong SEO traffic
→ But almost zero presence in AI responses
After implementing just 3 things:
• Updated key pages
• Added structured data
• Created comparison-style content
Within weeks:
→ Started appearing in AI answers
→ Saw new traffic sources
→ Higher quality inbound leads
No extra ad spend. Just smarter tracking + adjustments.
That’s the shift most people are missing.
If you’re not measuring this,
you’re guessing.
PS: If you had to track only ONE metric for AI visibility: what would it be?
