I talked earlier about relapsing into my deadly depression right after graduation — that brutal crash when the world suddenly reminds you how underemployment hits fresh computer science grads the hardest.
So, as one last act of resilience and rebellion, I decided to throw myself into something completely new, something that scared me. I’m a perfectionist with a paralyzing fear of failure, but I got into Java sockets. why? Honestly, I don’t even know. Maybe because multithreading just sounds cool.
Now I’m deep into multithreading, synchronization, CLI interfaces, and a whole lot of Java. I’m building an Uber-like app that runs entirely in the command line, where customers can enter their ride details and offers, and drivers can bid on them. The customer can then accept or reject the bid.
