I built a C#/.NET web application that helps traders discover and purchase Expert Advisors while giving sellers a referral-driven way to generate passive income. I designed the platform around a clean marketplace flow, secure transaction handling, and scalable backend architecture to support product listings, user accounts, and referral tracking.

📈 A story about scaling a marketplace, the version that doesn't fit in a highlight reel:

8 people. 12 months. 10,000 hours of work. That's what it actually took to get one marketplace from "working demo" to something that could handle real transaction volume

Nobody tells you this part going in: the hard problems aren't the ones you planned for. It's not the checkout flow, that's solved on day one. It's what happens at scale: two sellers updating the same listing at once, a payout failing silently at 2am, search results that get slower every week because nobody indexed for growth

12 months isn't a long sprint. It's enough time for the team to actually learn the marketplace's failure modes, the edge cases you only find once real sellers and real buyers start breaking things in ways your test data never would.

The number that matters most here isn't the 10K hours. It's that none of those hours were wasted rebuilding something that should've been built right the first time because the architecture was designed for this scale before the team needed it.

Marketplaces don't scale because you added more servers. They scale because someone did the unglamorous work of making the invisible plumbing boring and reliable, months before anyone was counting on it
