Most automation breaks silently.
You set it up, it runs for a week, and then one day the data just... stops flowing. Nobody notices for days. By then you've got missing records, angry clients, and no idea where it broke.
That's why every workflow I build has three layers:
First — validation at entry. If the data coming in is wrong, the workflow stops and flags it immediately instead of passing garbage downstream.
Second — error handling at every step. If an API call fails, it retries with backoff logic instead of silently dying.
Third — a daily summary. Every morning, a message goes out showing what ran, what was processed, and what (if anything) needs attention.
It takes longer to build this way. But it's the difference between automation that runs for a week and automation that runs for two years.
If your current automation has none of thenose — it's already broken. You just don't know it yet.
