🚀 Citywide Snow Removal Route Optimization

I built an automated routing system for a snow removal company to replace slow manual planning with optimized routes across hundreds of locations. The goal was to cut travel time, fuel use, and workload while keeping the system scalable.

1️⃣ Moved from nearest-neighbor routing to real driving data using Google Directions and Routes APIs. 2️⃣ Overcame Google’s 27-stop limit with a dynamic batching system. 3️⃣ Built an expanding-radius algorithm to balance batches and avoid overlaps. 4️⃣ Added Folium maps and text summaries so drivers could follow routes easily. 5️⃣ Used caching and Haversine pre-batching to reduce API calls and speed up processing.

The system cut repetitive travel by over half, produced accurate multi-vehicle routes, and automated a process that once took hours.
