A 30-second scene from the first episode of Grey Matter Tales, my YouTube channel about the psychology of everyday behavior.
The brief: explain a research finding, that procrastination is short-term mood repair, without a single chart. So the idea became a visual metaphor. A tiny grey cloud (a feeling) appears the moment the document opens. It grows with boredom, doubt and confusion, until the brain’s alarm points at the phone, and the phone opens into an umbrella.
What I did: • Script, research and voice-over • Art direction and storyboard: cozy stickman style, night-study set • Animation: camera moves, macro zoom, POV shot, character expressions, icon transitions • Word-timed kinetic captions and sound design
Built with a custom code-based animation pipeline (Python + Skia), developed with AI assistance. #MotionGraphics #2DAnimation #KineticTypography
