When I got challenged to design a sidebar for a gardener, my brain immediately went:Ā Wait, what? Why would a gardener need a custom app? Why wouldn't they just use a basic, already existing CRM?Ā š¤¦āāļø
I almost didnāt post this because I thought,Ā āIs this even cool enough?āĀ But a challenge is a challenge, so I forced myself to dig deeper.
So here's my answer to how to make a sidebar special for a gardener:
āļøĀ Weather-First UI:Ā The gardeners always have to check the forecast, so it definitely has to be there. One of my favorite touches- it's actually connected to the gardener's tasks and alerts them if the weather could affect their job today.
š§ŖĀ Fertilizers + Tools Trackers:Ā They have to keep track of their inventory!
It turns out designing for the soul means finding the magic in the unexpected workflows and quitting overthinking. How did I do?
