Light, for the PDP. The dark version wins on first impression but a black device photographs cleaner against a light background, and that's what actually needs to sell on a product page. Keep the dark cinematic version for the hero or a lifestyle video, and switch to light once someone is deciding to buy.

A client asked us this week why several products on their store kept showing Sold out when they knew stock was sitting in the warehouse.

The storefront count only reflects sellable inventory at locations Shopify treats as available for online orders. If stock is registered at a second location that isn't marked for online sales, or at a fulfillment service location, the total across locations can be positive while the storefront still reads zero and puts a sold out badge on the product.

The fix is in Settings, then Locations. Open the product's Inventory tab and check the breakdown by location, not just the total number at the top. Move the stock to a location enabled for online orders, or enable that location for online sales, and the badge clears without touching a line of theme code.

A five minute check worth doing on any sold out product before assuming it's actually out of stock. Look at the per location numbers, not the total.
