PawSpeak — Finally. Speak Cat.
My submission for the Google Stitch Challenge is PawSpeak, a playful AI pet translator concept that turns human text into cat-style expressions, moods, and voice.
Because let’s be honest: cats have been judging us in silence for thousands of years.
Now with the rise of AI pet tech like PettiChat, the smart collar that claims to translate dog barks and cat meows into human-like speech, the question is no longer “Can pets talk?”
The better question is:
What would your cat say if your phone could meow back?
That is the idea behind PawSpeak.
PawSpeak is a mobile-first AI companion for cat owners who want a fun, emotional, and personality-driven way to interact with their cats. Instead of treating pet translation as a cold science tool, PawSpeak turns it into a warm, playful daily experience.
Users can type or speak a human message, choose the cat mood, generate a cat-style translation, listen to the meow response, save favorite translations, explore mood-based cat expressions, and build a daily habit of understanding their cat better.
The prototype covers the main product journey:
Sign up / onboarding
How users heard about PawSpeak
Cat communication habits
Personalized user goalsCat moment preferences
Main translator screen
Human-to-cat translation
Mood library
Saved translations
Profile and progress experience
Shareable cat translation moments
Personalized “understand your cat” plan
What makes PawSpeak different is that it does not pretend your cat is suddenly writing Shakespeare.
It makes pet communication fun, expressive, and emotionally engaging.
It is not just a translator.
It is a tiny emotional bridge between humans and their cat.
For this challenge, I used Google Stitch as a core part of my design workflow. I started with the product idea, visual direction, and user flow, then used Stitch to quickly turn the concept into polished mobile app screens.
I used Stitch to explore layouts, refine the onboarding journey, test the translator interface, shape the mood library, and create a visual system that feels soft, modern, playful, and cat-like.
The biggest value was speed without losing creative control.
Stitch helped me move from a funny idea — “what if your phone could speak cat?” — into a real product experience with a clear flow, strong personality, and high-fidelity mobile UI.
This challenge was not just about generating screens.
It was about seeing how fast a weird, playful, slightly ridiculous idea can become a product that people instantly understand.
And honestly?
If cats ever get phones, they’re probably downloading this first.
