Building an online store and engineering an e-commerce system are two different challenges.
I’m currently working deeper into custom e-commerce development, where the work goes far beyond storefront design.
Some of the problems I’m working with include:

→ Product, inventory & order workflows
→ Payment integration and failure handling
→ Shipping & serviceability logic
→ User roles and security
→ Admin dashboards
→ Business-specific automation
My current stack:
Next.js • React • TypeScript • Supabase • PostgreSQL • Vercel
Platforms like Shopify are excellent when ready-made commerce features fit the business.
Custom development becomes valuable when a business needs more control, specialized workflows, integrations, or functionality that doesn’t fit neatly inside a standard platform.
That’s the part of e-commerce development I’m especially interested in: turning real business requirements into reliable systems.
