A video-heavy Webflow website doesn’t have to be a slow website.
For Paintgun, I transformed a provided Figma design into a responsive Webflow build containing multiple large background videos.
To prevent every video from loading when the page opened, I developed a reusable lazy-loading solution based on IntersectionObserver. Videos are loaded only when their sections approach the viewport, with separate desktop and mobile sources and additional handling for Safari, iOS and energy-saving conditions.
This allowed the website to preserve its media-rich visual experience while maintaining strong performance.
