THE BRIEF
Verite started as a question: what does a $99–$129 ecommerce template need to actually convert buyers, not just look good in a preview? Most fashion templates on the market are visually polished but functionally thin — no real cart, no real filtering, no thought given to what happens after someone clicks "Buy Now."
I set out to build something different — a template that could sell a real product on day one.
THE APPROACH
I began with research, not design. I studied Awwwards-winning ecommerce sites (P448, Polène, Hopaal) to understand what separates a $10K custom build from a templated one — pacing, restraint, and how imagery and typography carry a brand's tone before a single word of copy is read.
From there, I mapped the full buyer journey: homepage → category discovery → product detail → cart → checkout, then designed backward from that flow rather than starting with a homepage hero and hoping the rest would follow.
WHAT I BUILT
— A full product catalog (16 SKUs across two collections) with real Shopify inventory, variants, and pricing — A custom hover-reveal category navigator, built natively in Framer with zero code — image and copy crossfade based on which category the shopper is hovering — Product detail pages with dynamic image galleries, a material-story section, and cross-product recommendations — all pulling live from Shopify metafields, not hardcoded — A working cart and checkout, wired through Framer Commerce — An editorial Stories section and long-form About page, so the brand reads as considered rather than templated — Full SEO pass — meta titles and descriptions rewritten page by page
THE PROCESS
Nothing here was static. I connected the entire product catalog, inventory, and imagery to Shopify — meaning every product on the site is a real, purchasable item with real stock levels, not placeholder content. When integration issues came up (inventory tracking, broken metafield syncing, image galleries with rigid slot counts) I diagnosed and rebuilt each one at the data layer rather than patching around it visually.
THE OUTCOME
A template that behaves like a live store from the first click — ready for a founder to swap in their own products and launch, not spend weeks rebuilding the plumbing underneath a pretty homepage.
