Having just joined contra this week - I'm obviously super eager to land my 1st job here. SO... I'm going to share my #contrajourney here! 🚀
I want to make a little series out of this where I transparently share what I'm doing as it seems like tons of people are in a similar boat where moving from 0 to 1 is the most difficult.
If you're curious please follow along, hoping this inspires others and we can get more people on the road to their first gig!
So far:
- I'm trying to apply to just ONE job per day. Currently 9 applications in queue
- Commenting, engaging with, and messaging other contra creatives for 30m per day
- Posting at least 3x per week
Separately, I'm sharing certifications and milestones on linkedin as well to leverage that network.

Exploring glass-like cell division simulations in Blender.
This piece focuses on procedural animation, material development, lighting, and motion design aesthetics.
Created entirely in Blender.
The translucent membrane quality is really convincing here. Getting that kind of subsurface scattering without it looking overcooked is tricky in Blender. Did you use geometry nodes for the cell division simulation or was the growth hand-keyed?
