One thing I always figure out at the start of a project: who actually makes the final decisions?
Not who gives feedback. Who makes the call when there’s disagreement.
I’ve worked on projects where the designer, PM, and client all had opinions, but nobody had clear authority to decide. Feedback would contradict itself. Revisions would pile up because no one could say “this is the direction, let’s move forward.”
When one person owns decisions, everything moves faster. Feedback still comes from the team, but it gets filtered through someone who can make the final call. Less back and forth, clearer direction.
