Naturally only stumbled across this challenge today... literally just a few hours before the deadline. 😂 So while there was no way I could participate in the capacity I would've loved to, I thought I can still turn it into a little game.. What can I build in 4 hours using Squarespace's brand new animation tools?
I started with a simple concept and built this homepage from scratch, using only Squarespace’s native design features. It was also my very first time exploring the new update, so I was learning, experimenting, and designing all at once.
I used Finish Layer to introduce more depth and movement through layered compositions, scroll-based animations, and interactive hover details that help guide the viewer through the page. My goal was to create something that felt visually interesting while still keeping the experience easy to navigate.
And honestly, I am so impressed with what is now possible inside Squarespace without any need for code.
Four hours was definitely not enough time to explore every idea I had, but that was part of the fun. There is still so much I want to experiment with, but here is what I was able to bring to life in one very spontaneous afternoon. 🤍

I love the black and this color of yelloe with minimalist design and great font choices along with thin lines. My onlu auggestion is to implement the color yellow at details and especially on the hero section a little bit more. Great design!

We designed and built the site in Squarespace to deliver a premium, considered experience from the first scroll, matching the quality of the property itself.
We used the full Finish Layer suite to create a beautiful, smooth bespoke feel.
Block Animations - Cards slide into view as you enter the page, and reveal their copy on hover with a click-through link, creating an interactive, editorial feel.
Block Transforms - Used to build an overlapping card layout, giving the page depth and a dynamic, asymmetrical rhythm.
Stacks - Grouped and aligned blocks to control how the layouts hold together across screen sizes.
Font Uploads - A custom brand font uploaded to carry The Gate's personality throughout.

Really good work! That photo gallery section good qualiry hero video blended with great font choices and text placements.. looks and feels insane overall!
Project: Therapeutic Massage & Healing Arts Spa
I designed and built this Squarespace website to create a calm, professional, and welcoming online experience for a massage therapy and wellness business. The goal was to make it easy for visitors to explore services, learn about the practice, and book appointments with confidence.
The design emphasizes clean layouts, soothing visuals, intuitive navigation, mobile responsiveness, and a user-friendly booking experience that reflects the brand's focus on relaxation, healing, and wellness. Every section was crafted to build trust while encouraging visitors to take action.
This project demonstrates my ability to create modern, conversion-focused Squarespace websites tailored to service-based businesses.
