Animated Album Cover is a scalable promotional workflow built for independent artists and musicians who want to create high quality visual promos without needing a full creative team. The idea started from a simple thought: a lot of indie artists struggle with visual promotion because it takes too much time, money, or technical skill. Instead of hiring multiple people just to create short looping visuals or Spotify Canvas assets, this workflow makes the process much faster and more accessible using Melius.
The workflow starts from a single square album cover input, then expands into multiple promotional outputs such as animated square visuals, vertical Spotify Canvas videos, and premium presentation mockups. Even though this project focuses on album covers, the same workflow structure can also be used for movie posters, campaign visuals, and other promotional artwork.
What I wanted to build was not just a single animation, but a reusable creative system that can turn one artwork into an entire visual promo package quickly and consistently.
Process Steps
Upload the original square album cover artwork into Melius
Upscale the image when needed using Nano Banana 2 4K to preserve detail and improve quality before animation
Create animated square visuals from the original artwork while maintaining the original design and identity of the album cover
Use Melius Magic Resize to convert the square artwork into a vertical format for Spotify Canvas and short-form social content
Animate the vertical version using Kling 2.5 Turbo to create cinematic motion visuals suitable for music promotion
Generate premium presentation mockups such as vinyl records and CD jewel cases to make the project feel like a complete music campaign
Organize the entire workflow using Melius AI Agent and grouping system to keep everything structured, scalable, and reusable
Tools Used
• Nano Banana 2 4K • Kling 2.5 Turbo • Melius AI Agent • Melius Magic Resize
Feedback on Using Melius
Honestly, I really enjoyed using Melius. The branding feels modern, the website looks great, and the overall experience feels much more creative-focused compared to many other AI tools. One of my favorite parts was the AI Agent because it understood what I wanted surprisingly well and helped build organized workflows quickly with grouping already structured nicely.
Magic Resize was also one of the best features during this project because it made adapting visuals for different formats much easier.
I also think Melius has huge potential beyond just generating visuals because the workflow system itself can become a creative ecosystem for templates and collaboration.
One feature I would love to see in the future is the ability for Magic Resize outputs to connect directly into other nodes without needing to manually download and upload files again.
Another feature that would be amazing is a community workflow sharing system where users can publish workflows as reusable templates. For example, this Animated Album Cover workflow could become a public template where someone only needs to upload an album cover or movie poster at the beginning, then generate the rest of the outputs automatically. It would also be great if users could still customize the workflow freely after choosing a template by adding their own nodes or modifying prompts.
