Mama Vivian Kitchen – Bringing a Local Market Food Business to Life.

Mama Vivian Kitchen is a local food business located inside a busy market, serving delicious, affordable homemade meals to traders, workers, and visitors every day. The business specializes in authentic local Nigerian dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes.

Our menu includes: Jollof Rice White Rice and Stew Fried Rice Beans Yam Porridge Moi Moi Eba, Amala, Semovita, and Pounded Yam Egusi Soup Ogbono Soup Vegetable Soup Okra Soup Pepper Soup Grilled Fish Chicken Beef Assorted Meat Plantain Local drinks and more.

Like many small businesses in Nigerian markets, Mama Vivian Kitchen currently operates under umbrellas because the owners cannot yet afford to build a permanent shop. Despite these challenges, they continue serving quality meals with dedication and hard work. For this project, I wanted to reimagine what Mama Vivian Kitchen could become. I created a modern website that showcases the business, tells its story, and gives customers a professional online experience while staying true to its roots as a local market food joint. Winning this competition would mean much more than recognition. It would help bring this vision closer to reality by contributing toward building a permanent shop for Mama Vivian Kitchen, giving the business a safer, more comfortable space to serve customers and continue growing. This project is my way of using design to support a hardworking local business and demonstrate how technology can help even the smallest market vendors reach more people and create a brighter future.
