KO II MIDI Programmer

KO II MIDI Programmer is a dark, performance-focused MIDI utility integrated into the MusicRig app for programming the Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II from a desktop control surface. The app brings connection status, pad note assignments, pattern settings, MIDI channel controls, transport, sync options, velocity shaping, and a 16-step sequencer into one focused interface.

The design prioritizes studio readability inside the larger MusicRig workflow: high-contrast panels, clear hardware status, fast pad editing, real-time pattern controls, and a visual sequencer grid built for quick iteration. It is intended for musicians who want the immediacy of hardware with the precision of a software editor.

Key capabilities shown:

USB/MIDI device connection and port selection

16-pad note assignment grid for the EP-133 K.O. II

Tempo, velocity, gate, duration, pattern length, and MIDI channel controls

Step sequencer with active/rest states and per-step velocity values

Transport controls, clock sync, utility actions, and firmware/MIDI status

Role: product design, UI direction, hardware workflow design, and frontend prototype.

Built a voice-first AI app in @usewonder.

The goal was simple: create something that makes people instantly think, "Damn, this feels like a real AI product."

I started with a few foundation screens, imported them into Wonder, then used Wonder Chat to expand the experience, refine the UX, and iterate much faster than I normally would.

My favorite feature has to be Shaders. It instantly made the interface feel more alive and premium. I also experimented with MCP + Codex to push the prototype further. Still learning that workflow, but it was fun to explore.

Here's a quick walkthrough of the project and how Wonder fit into my design process.

P.S. Ignore my grammar and occasional stuttering in the video. My brain renders thoughts faster than my mouth ships them. 😭
