Why does a React app work perfectly locally and then break in production?
“It works on my machine” usually means something is different between the two environments.
Common culprits:
→ Environment variables → CORS → localhost URLs → Case-sensitive imports → Database/Auth configuration → SSR & hydration → Caching → Dependency versions
The solution isn't to start changing code randomly.
Find where the failure occurs, compare the environments, identify the difference, and fix the root cause.
