Your Klaviyo settings can say everything is fine while Gmail quietly sends you to spam.
A Shopify skincare brand came to me after almost a year of emails landing in spam. SPF passed. DKIM passed. The domain showed as verified in Klaviyo. Every quick audit came back clean.
The real problem was one setting deeper: the domain was verified but never activated for sending. Every email went out under Klaviyo's shared domain, DMARC could never align, and a year of sends built zero reputation for the brand.
The settings screen didn't show it. The headers on a live send did.
After switching it on and rebuilding trust with Gmail and Outlook:
→ Deliverability score 42 (Poor) → 62 (Fair) in 30 days
→ 59.55% open rate on the engaged-segment campaign
→ Bounce and unsubscribe rates back in Klaviyo's healthy range
A 2-minute check you can run today: send yourself a campaign in Gmail, open the message details, and look at "mailed-by" and "signed-by". If they show a Klaviyo domain instead of yours, you have the same problem.
