Back in 2023 I co-founded Clustr, a reality check for your crypto portfolio: it rated your coins by risk so you didn't have to dig through every project yourself.
We launched on Product Hunt and it went further than we hoped: #1 Product of the Day, then of the Week, then of the Month. At the end of the year Clustr won the Golden Kitty Award in Web3 & Crypto, Product Hunt's product of the year in the category. 11,000+ users in the first 3 months.
What stuck with me: the launch day is the easy part. The month before it, talking to users and cutting features, is what made it work.
Now I'm building Almost Senior, a new way to land a job: your CV adapted to every role, every application tracked. Same approach.

Over the next few weeks, we're picking recently funded Y Combinator startups and looking at their websites through a product and conversion lens.
Not just:
“How can we make this look better?”
But:
Is the product immediately clear?
Does the hero communicate why it matters?
Is the hierarchy helping or slowing people down?
Does the visual direction fit the product?
And is the next step obvious?
For some, we'll redesign the hero.
For others, it might be positioning, product storytelling, UX, or the conversion path.
And sometimes, the right answer might be that we wouldn't change much at all.
We'll share the original, what we noticed, what we'd change, and why.

Which YC startup should we put on the list?
Good framing. For the YC list, I'd pick sites where the hero names the category but not the product, because that is where positioning beats layout. Curious whether the fix you land on most is copy or visuals.

For the Base44 Challenge, I decided to focus on something close to me... my own website. I wanted to make sure it felt fun, fresh and featured automated elements to make potential clients' lives easier and, in turn, mine.
The website features an interactive colour-changing cursor, a 3D project carousel and a personalised questionnaire that tailors the questions I ask to the specific project a client needs help with.
Client enquiries go straight to my inbox and into a private project portal, where I can review the details and keep all the information handy for follow-ups.
On top of that, I set up a project management system where I can create projects, add tasks and keep track of deadlines. It's fully customisable and easy to use.
Less admin, better briefs, and more time to focus on the creative work. 🙌

I decided to be the client this round to focus on increasing my leads.
Wanted to test out gamified/interesting activities related to my products and services that could help pick someone's interest like other interactive ads. Decided to make a reflection based activity as that is what I have been my recent focus.
The goal was to keep things simple and clean, and to build something that would not require alot of upkeep. Only three main pages, along with CTAs on each page, and leading to the other pages that build pathways to progressive action, including reaching out to me.
Reflect and Act Challenge is made so that a user would get actually use out of it regardless if they be come a solid lead. I also made it with the pragmatic reality that credits run out, and so the base functions still work.
Smart pivot being your own client Korbin! Love the reflection-based lead magnet idea - "Sit with the question. Leave with an action." is such a strong hook for your products/services. Gamified + introspective = perfect combo for Base44!
