We are considering launching a new payments product to support digital goods. Do people actually want this ? Think Framer templates, components, prompt kits etc.

Supporting payments for digital products on Contra would create new revenue streams for freelancers and increase overall engagement and value on the platform.

Would love to see support for retainers/subscriptions. I’m currently managing everything through Stripe.

You can also do that as „Milestone Payment“, for now.

I have yet to join the digital goods game, but having something embedded in Contra might be what finally spurs me on!

i suggest more clarification on the escrow paiments drama that happened few times already and the if it is true that clients can force refunds and take money from the bank? please consider answering this important query

Both look great

That would be insanely amazing! It's more like we people in @Contra almost shouldn't need to look further anywhere else for these kind of specific gems!

Having more options is always better, even if I don’t need them. However, I would like more customizable invoices. The current format makes it difficult to invoice for time. Ultimately, I should be able to use any number I want and have it calculated in any way I prefer.

I think that would be just the thing missing here! I sell digital products but they are all over the place, bringing it to contra would be so useful. Although I do wonder how it would change contra, as a community...

What’s the timeline on this Ben? Have a Framer template that I’d like to launch here first possibly?

This would help a lot of people who sell digital products but also makes me wonder how it would affect the community. Im sure it will be in a positive way

I think adding products into Contra would be a great addition as long as the right strategy is undertaken. By strategy I mean how to attract the right audience that is interested in buying those products. We should definitely avoid a scenario such as an over-supply of digital goods vis-a-vis their demand.

No. the platform doesn't have that many freelance opportunities yet and sometimes it crashes for no reason. applying for jobs is easy but the way Indy is not helpful at all is just meh. Discovering anything on contra is kinda bad. I tried looking up myself BY NAME didn't find...

I've never sold digital products before but this could be a great thing to add to the platform!

Would love to see that, but consider adding Webflow templates as well.

Yes, I'd be platform-hopping a lot less!

It's not a bad idea, indeed, I also voted Yes definitely. However, just including it into existing platform it may easily disrupt it's core business model and make this one chaotic over saturated flea marketplace.... Many examples on the market proved that how much this is a...

The template market is broken because it still treats templates as files rather than outcomes. Buyers want complete systems: onboarding, structure, flows, and a clear way to deploy what they’ve purchased. No marketplace solves that. We do it, but don't have the marketplace to...

I think this will be great @Ben Huffman, some website platforms do a poor job as a template marketplace and having a consolidated business with services and templates under the same profile at Contra will be a game-changer for some friends here. can't wait to try this 🔥

This would be absolutely amazing. I've been looking for a good place to launch custom Squarespace templates, this would be the holy grail. I just don't want it mixed in with services, these should be distinct areas on profiles, portfolios, and search I think. 🤔

This would be amazing! I currently sell Looker Studio Dashboard templates on Etsy (https://queenbeedataviz.etsy.com) and would especially love to be able to pedal them here with a native integration as well. Let's make it happen!
