Have you ever designed a packaging in a language that you can't speak or read?
That was my experience working with Sojuro Cosmetics, where I had to design in Russian 🇷🇺. The reduced space on the label was a real limitation as well, but we used it to our advantage.
Treating the label as a small magazine page, where every piece of content had to fit perfectly within the space, brought a level of sophistication and precision to the design.
The client also produced amazing product images with the final result, I couldn't be more excited of those amazing pictures!

@Anita Autorino This looks amazing! We're in the final stages of wrapping up a project in French. It definitely opens your eyes on how designing in a different language brings it's own challenges and little idiosyncrasies!

@Anita Autorino Looks great! How difficult was it? Did your lack of knowledge in Russian impact your design choices, or communication with the client?

@Idris Belabed communication was key! I asked client to provide a translated doc as well to understand what everything meant so I could give everything the right hierarchy. In the end I just treated text as visuals.

@Anita Autorino wow, I’m sure there’s also advantages in not knowing the language because you can see it from a different lens too

@Benjamin C Yes! Exactly!

@Anita Autorino That's a nice clean flow around the jar. The eyes easily follow as I looked at these. Very nice.

@Anita Autorino The design and coloring looks so 19th century. Fantastic.
