If I were auditing your Shopify store today, these are the first 6 things I'd check.
A store can look good and still have problems that make shopping difficult.
Here's what I look at during a Shopify store audit:
1. Homepage design: Is your brand message clear, and can visitors find your main products easily?
2. Product pages: Are descriptions informative, images clear, and purchase buttons easy to find?
3. Mobile experience: Does the store work smoothly across different screen sizes?
4. SEO fundamentals: Are product titles, meta descriptions, headings, and collection pages optimized appropriately?
5. Trust and credibility: Can customers easily find your contact details, shipping information, return policies, and genuine reviews?
6. Customer journey: Are there unnecessary steps, confusing layouts, or potential obstacles between browsing and checkout?
After reviewing these areas, I'd prioritize practical improvements based on their likely impact and the store's specific needs.
A Shopify store audit isn't just about finding problems. It's about understanding what to improve and why.
