CHALLENGE:
Design a fully engineered CAD model and manufacturable prototype for a portable power-assist device that inserts into the 1.5” inner diameter winch shaft on standard flatbed trailer winches and automatically tightens/releases cargo straps.
SOLUTION:
Expandable Steel 3-leg collet.
Output rpm between 30–50 RPM under load.
Output torque target: ≥ 50 N.m.
OUTCOME:
Prototype-Ready for 3D Printing, delivering manufacturing files compatible with manufacturer providers like Protolabs, Jiga, PCB Way, or Xometry.
Case design with injection molding techniques.

Which flow seems more natural to you?
