Eight Weathers, One Route
The idea: Hiroshige spent his career painting weather. Sudden showers, fireworks nights, gales, snow. I built a Recraft Style from five of his prints and sent one modern delivery rider through all of his storms. Same weather, 170 years later, still has to get the order there.
The find: five Hiroshige woodblock prints from the Cleveland Museum of Art open access collection (CC0), downloaded at full size. I cropped out every title cartouche, seal and signature so the Style copies the craft (key lines, flat color planes, bokashi gradients, diagonal rain) and not the text.
The twist: the rider crosses a highway overpass in a sudden shower, a steel bridge under fireworks, a coastal road in a gale, a gas station under a pine in night rain, a bamboo hill in driving rain, a harbor under container cranes, a rooftop at full moon and a footbridge in snow. Each image pairs with the print whose weather it borrows.
Presentation: 8 vertical prints plus before and after slides (archive original next to the new image).
