Getting Ready to Go Home | To Her, Earth Was Never “Home” | Sci-Fi Short Film
Shizu Takamori was born on the Moon.
She has seen Earth countless times, but she has never stood beneath its gravity.
Then she meets Soichi Iwasa, an elderly man preparing to “go home” to Nagasaki in just a few days.
On the Moon, Shizu is the physical therapist supporting him.
But during training at 1G, their roles reverse — and Iwasa becomes the one teaching Shizu how to stand, walk, and live under Earth’s gravity.
What does it really mean to “go home”?
Is home the place our ancestors came from?
The place where we were born?
Or simply the place where we can return and say, “I’m home”?
Set in the everyday life of a lunar city, Getting Ready to Go Home is a quiet science-fiction short film about gravity, memory, belonging, and the meaning of home.
