Today marks one month since I gave up fast content — Reels, TikTok, Shorts 😶
Here’s what I noticed (and read about) during this time:
1.Better focus.
2.Less anxiety.
A 2024 meta-analysis found that this kind of “detox” leads to a noticeable reduction in stress and depressive symptoms.Relevant for me — I take antidepressants.
3. Better sleep.
I also started going to bed earlier and adjusting my schedule.
The first week wasn’t pleasant — I constantly felt I might miss something important (spoiler: I didn’t). That’s FOMO.
Some habits strongly pushed me to open TikTok — a bit of self-discipline is needed 🫠
I plan to continue the experiment.
If you struggle with focus, sleep, or feel like there’s never enough time — check your screen time and try a social media detox. I’m confident you’ll feel better 🙏
