Hostel Management System is a full-stack web application developed to streamline hostel operations and improve communication between students and administrators. The platform provides secure user authentication, mess rebate management, complaint registration, real-time community chat, announcements, notifications, and administrative controls through a centralized dashboard.
Students can submit rebate requests, lodge complaints, access important hostel notifications, and interact with fellow residents through a live chat system. Administrators can efficiently manage records, monitor complaints, publish announcements, and oversee hostel activities from a dedicated management panel.
Built using Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, Mongoose, Socket.IO, and SendGrid, the project demonstrates expertise in backend development, real-time communication, session-based authentication, database management, file handling, and scalable web application architecture.
