Portfolio note: a client recently asked me to rebuild a reporting dashboard they already had, and I talked them out of it. Their real problem was not the dashboard, it was that nobody owned the weekly follow-up behind it, so the numbers went stale every Monday. We fixed the ownership first, one person, one weekly check, one alert when a lead sat untouched for three days, and the old dashboard suddenly started working again. Lesson I keep re-learning: most rebuilds are just unowned processes wearing a software costume. Fix the owner before you fix the tool.
