Building an interactive digital archive of Indian culture, idioms, and ancient weapons ✍️🫖⚔️
I’m currently building The Cultural Pantry—a web experience designed to showcase Indian folklore, everyday nostalgia, and martial history using a naïve fine-liner & pencil sketch aesthetic.
What’s inside:
📜 Dual-Tab Lore & Roots: Click an item to reveal its cultural saying ("रेखा मत लांघों" for the Urumi Whip-Sword, "पतंग की तरह ऊँचा उड़ना" for the Patang) alongside its actual historical origin.
🔊 Spatial Audio (WIP): Adding realistic sound effects—from the metallic slash of an Urumi blade to the paper-snap of a kite in the wind.
🗞️ Story Parcels: Select 5 items, wrap them in an animated 3D hand-drawn newspaper tied with sutli (jute string), and send a shareable custom link to a friend.
Still a work in progress, but bringing cultural storytelling to life through interactive hand-drawn UI has been an incredible build.
