Standard Chartered – Unified Digital Onboarding Platform | Hong Kong & Mainland China
Contributed to the backend development of a digital onboarding platform supporting customer journeys across Hong Kong and Mainland China.
The platform was developed using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, GraphQL, Azure, MySQL and Oracle, providing backend services for customer onboarding, application processing, account and product workflows, document management, verification, application tracking, and enterprise integrations.
Worked extensively with GraphQL APIs and Java/Spring Boot microservices, developing backend functionality, business logic, service integrations, and application enhancements within a distributed architecture.
Contributed to improving code reusability, maintainability, modularity, and separation of responsibilities through object-oriented design patterns and microservices-based development.
The platform connected customer-facing onboarding applications with backend services and enterprise systems, supporting secure and scalable digital account-opening and onboarding workflows across the supported regions.

How I built my portfolio
Wanted something more visual than a typical dev portfolio, so I went looking on Codrops (they publish free front-end demos/tutorials) and found a cinematic 3D scroll demo — GSAP + Three.js + WebGL, with a shader particle scene and a scroll-controlled camera with animated type.
Used that as the base, then reworked the sections around my own work: swapped the placeholder content/images for my projects and info, retuned the scroll animations to fit a portfolio flow instead of a tutorial demo, and shipped it on Vercel.
Aero — Rethinking the Air Travel Experience ✈️
One thing I paid a lot of attention to while designing this app was onboarding.
Onboarding is often treated as a few screens users have to swipe through before reaching the actual product.
But for an airline app, it can do much more.
A good onboarding experience should quickly answer three questions:
What is this app?
Users should immediately understand what the product helps them do.
Why should I trust it?
Travel involves bookings, payments, personal information, and important plans. The experience needs to feel reliable from the beginning.
What can I do here?
The path from opening the app to finding a flight should feel clear and effortless.
For this concept, I focused on keeping the onboarding simple, visual, and purposeful.
Instead of overwhelming users with information, each screen introduces one core value:

✦ Find the right flight
✦ Manage your journey with ease
Good onboarding isn't about adding more screens.
It's about helping users understand the product before asking them to use it.
That first impression can have a huge impact on how comfortable someone feels moving forward.
