LEFT SIDE – AGE 19 (POOR):
A young man wearing old, worn-out clothes, looking tired and struggling. Background features a poor railway station with an old, rusty train, grey atmosphere, simple surroundings, and muted colours.
RIGHT SIDE – AGE 25 (RICH):
The same young man six years later, now wealthy, confident, well-dressed in a luxury black suit. Background features a modern luxury train, premium railway station, elegant architecture, and a rich lifestyle atmosphere.
CENTER:
A powerful visual transition separating both sides, with a railway track leading from the poor side toward the rich side, representing six years of transformation.
STYLE:
Ultra-realistic photography, cinematic lighting, strong contrast between poverty and wealth, professional colour grading, detailed environment, dramatic composition, visually powerful storytelling.
Keep both versions of the man clearly visible. Make the transformation instantly understandable. No text, no logos, no watermark.
Was playing around with Rogie King's Noise & Texture plugin in Figma and thought it’d be fun to throw in a few excerpts from Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar.
One thing led to another, and I ended up with these experiments in typography and texture.
It got me thinking about how texture and typography can do more than just look interesting. They can help communicate the mood and meaning behind the words.
What do you think? Does the chaos add to the story, or get in the way of it?
For me the chaos works when it stays tied to the words, like the tangle looping around "One by One". On the dense excerpt layouts legibility starts to eat the story, so I'd keep the noise away from the lines you want read first.
7:30 a.m. First coffee. Same ritual, every single day.
Some people have a sweet tooth. I have a coffee tooth. And while the kettle boils, I usually catch myself daydreaming about the same place: Japan, a trip I’ve wanted to take for years.
