ORIGO — Designing a digital experience for an imagined architecture studio. ORIGO is a concept website for a fictional architecture studio in Lisbon. There was no client commission, no existing studio, and no photography. I built the entire visual world from scratch.
The art direction
I generated and art-directed every image, bringing together aerial landscapes, architectural interiors, material details, section drawings, and pencil sketches in a consistent visual language of stone, timber, water, and low light. Three fictional projects across Portugal and Norway give the studio its identity.
The design
A dark, restrained palette, editorial typography, and generous negative space set the tone. Project titles reveal letter by letter, while statements unfold word by word. Each project page is designed to read like an architectural monograph.
The experience
A full-screen hero film, Lenis smooth scrolling, and GSAP-driven motion create a browsing experience that feels closer to moving through architecture than navigating a conventional website. The result spans seven pages, including three detailed project pages.
The build
I designed the experience in Figma, then built it as a custom front-end in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript using Claude Code under my direction. I reviewed and refined the output by hand, with no template or page builder.
Accessibility details include a skip-to-content link, a pause control for the hero film, and alt text for images.
ORIGO was an exploration of how art direction, interface design, and creative development can come together to give an imagined studio a distinctive digital presence.

no photography for an architecture studio site is a bold constraint. the type has to do all the heavy lifting

Thanks! With no photography, I art-directed AI imagery into one visual language, and let the type set the pace. Glad it came through.
