Thanks!! 🤗 It's more of a trend comparison than a competition, really. I think the interesting part is what each approach does better, and how those trade-offs play out in real projects. There's definitely room for both 😸
Both, but in that order for most sites. AI search still leans on pages that are crawlable and indexed, so GEO sits on top of SEO rather than replacing it. Where GEO adds something is answer-first sections, consistent facts about the brand across the web, and checking what assistants actually say about you.
Exactly! Another interesting difference is the feedback loop. You can test how AI assistants interpret a brand almost instantly, but actually changing those answers is a different story, especially when they're relying on outdated third-party sources
Yes, that lag is the frustrating part. What usually moves it is fixing the sources they already cite, like old directory listings, review profiles and comparison posts, rather than only your own site. Then re-test with the same prompts a few weeks later. Assistants that search live pick it up quickly, the others need longer.
Exactly!! I once spent half an hour auditing a website before realizing my crawler was feeding the main agent an outdated version of the page. The client hadn't mentioned the site had been updated either 😅
Quick question though: when you retest, do you stick to the exact same...
