1. Find an image of a subject you're interested in, or use your own. For references use Unsplash/Pixabay if you want copyright free images.
2. Print the reference so that you can put a sheet of paper on top of it. If you have a light table, even better because then you avoid the pain of holding a paper against a window, to see the reference underneath.
3. Use a timer to avoid overthinking. This allows to focus on shape language and not details.
Rinse and repeat
This is a practice I used to do a lot, which I am now revisiting. It allows for a fast iterative process to explore shape language, and find interesting angles. Preferably do it without digital tools, but up to you.

When they approached me for their website redesign, the mission was clear: break away from the standard approach of showing static platform screens in a digital void.
I helped them bridge that gap by focusing on demonstrating the product in use.
My Design Approach
👉 Rather than staying stuck in the "dashboard view," the new design centers on real-world outcomes. It visualizes how the platform solves production bottlenecks and provides instant technical guidance exactly where the work happens.
👉 I paired a dynamic visual flow with high-visibility typography to ensure that the most critical information is always front and center for the user.
This is a great shift moving from static dashboards to showing the product in context makes the value instantly clearer. Outcome-driven design always hits harder.
